Something to Celebrate {The Boys Are Baptized}

My boys had their Baptism this past weekend. We had a wonderful day. It felt like we prepped for the party for over a week but you have to take into consideration when you have two infants that your only free time is when and if they nap. I couldn't be happier at how everything turned out. I can not take all of the credit. I have my aunts to thank for their mad skills in the kitchen and my generous mom for getting the boys the cake you see above. Also, my mom was my right hand man helping me prep everything {cleaning the house, making decorations, caring for the little ones and so much more} the week leading up to the Baptism.
My brother & cousin with their godson.
My best friend & brother with their godson.
After the Baptism we had everyone over to our house for a late lunch.
{Sorry, I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the table the was home to the amazing bruschetta, spinach artichoke dip, veggies and dip, fruit, meatballs, lasagnas and salad.}

Our theme was light blue and white. I made the decorations that hung from the curtain rod above the patio door out of three different size circles (4", 3" and 2") cut from scrapbook paper. You punch a hole on the top and bottom {save one small circle for the last/bottom circle and only punch the top hole} and connect them together with jump rings.

We had centerpieces of babies breath in mason jars and one center piece on the kitchen table with blue daisies.

We had cake, angel food cupcakes with a few pinwheels to decorate them and sugar cookies in the shape of crosses.

Above the dessert table we covered a picture with silver wrapping paper and I cut out the text 'Children of God' and my son's names using my Silhouette. Above the picture we also hung a cluster of tissue paper pom poms. Super simple to make and it added a lot to the area {my mom became a pro at making them}. We hung them from hooks {the 3M kind that can pull off easily} on the ceiling.

Like I said it was a great day!

Weekend Wrap Up {Take Me Out to the Ballgame} & Thank You

This weekend was exhausting but great. My sister {and hopefully all of her guests} had a great time at her party. We had a concession stand...

Complete with cotton candy.

Baby Ruth candy bars, baseball suckers and Cracker Jacks.

A baseball candy dispenser with Reeses Pieces.

The tables each had a centerpiece with flowers and balloons {sorry no picture of the balloons}, as well as some treats: peanuts and popcorn.

They played baseball. Maggy was team manager of one team. This picture is when she was tired of waiting in the outfield and pulled up a chair {true Maggy style}.

And this video is not supposed to be shown {per my mama} but I had to. It's a short segment of the baseball game. You can see Manager Maggy sitting in the background. I just love how my mom and aunt play baseball and run! So cute!

They also had potato sack races {I really wish I would have gotten a video of that} and three legged races.

We completed the day with dessert. {These are just the cakes I decorated for my mom. Not my best, not my worst.} There were plenty of other yummy treats as well.

Like I said, it was a great {exhausting} day and Maggy really enjoyed herself.

On a side note I would like to thank everyone that has been leaving comments. I do read them all and love to hear from you. Unfortunately, Blogger and I are not agreeing when it comes to letting me comment back.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame {or Maggy's Graduation Party}

T minus four days till my sister's graduation party. Today I spent some time knocking a few things off my to do list. I finally found a solution for the cups. It is so simple but this is seriously the third thing I've tried. I almost gave up. The logo is the Milwaukee Brewer logo because Maggy's initials are MB and they live in Wisconsin. I did change the colors of the logo to her school colors. I also made a container for straws.
Then I decided to whip up some simple {believe me, they are nothing special} signs for the drink table and the concession stand.
Please note: While I was trying to take this picture the cat, Diva, thought the excess twine hanging off the side of the table was for her to play with. I got the picture before she pulled the whole thing off the table.

Pennant Banner {Getting Ready for Maggy's Graduation Party!}

In just five short days Maggy {my sister, the youngest of the four kids} will be walking across the stage to receive her diploma. I have NEVER seen someone so EXTATIC to graduate. I know that every graduate is excited and feeling bitter sweet as they leave one life and people they've known for so many years to move on to a job or college. But for Maggy there is an entirely different sentiment for graduation. It's something adults get to do. It's something that only her and a few of her classmates get to do, making it all the more special. It's a day where she is the center of attention.

Plus, with a graduation means she gets to have a party which is like icing on the cake for Maggy. Our family doesn't know how to do things small. So Maggy's party is like a small wedding. Really...we have like 60+ people on the guest list and most are family. This is not intimidating to say the least. Our normal, family only, parties average around 35-40 of us {that's just aunts, uncles, grandma and cousins}. We are one big happy family.

Lots of planning needs to go into having a party. Maggy chose a theme: baseball. The food list is two pages long {I'm already full just thinking about it}. We've already begun shopping. And this past weekend I finished her 'Congrats Maggy' Pennant Banner that we are going to hang outside. I do have to admit, when I was putting it together I made a big oopsie and spelt Maggy's name: yggaM. Congrats YggaM would have been funny but I had to fix it.

Sorry, the picture is hard to see.

Close Up...I love the little details...see the stars I added in between each pennant.
And fun ribbon to hang the banner from on party day!
