Dear Mom {Happy Mother's Day!}

First let me say that I know this letter is a day late but it has been a letter that I've been thinking about writing for days. I was going to post it yesterday but I had a monster of a headache that left me miserable all afternoon and evening, but since that has subsided I would now like to tribute this post to my wonderful mom.

My parents wedding: {L-R, Aunt Suzy, Mom, Dad, Uncle Pat}
My lovely Momma!

Dear Mom,

You are my best friend,
the one I confide in,
the one I call when I have news to share,
or nothing at all to say.
The one who I can talk to for hours on end, everyday.

You've taught me so much that I am eternally grateful for.
You've taught me that rocks don't go in your mouth {even though to this day I think it was a great immune system booster},
Chocolate tastes better.
You've taught me to be a good person,
to always help others,
the importance of family,
to be myself,
to be strong,
to laugh at myself,
to enjoy the simple things in life,
and to not take anything for granted.

Generations: Mom, Great Grandma, Me, Grandma
I don't know how you did it,
but you raised four happy, healthy children.
And I don't even need to ask any of them because I already know what they would say,
We all love and adore you,
and would do anything for you.
My brother David, Me, Hubby, my sister Maggy and my brother Joey.
You have been my inspiration,
my drive,
and my support for as long as I can remember.
Because of you I am the person I am today.

This year alone you have been my rock when things have been challenging,
but together we've pulled through,
and because of you I'm in a better place today,
working from home, time for the things I love and expecting two little bundles of joy {which, once again, I will need you for and I know you are ready and waiting to help, as you already have been}.
I could not have gone through the ups and downs without you.
Thank you for always answering my calls,
listing to my rants,
and being on my side.
This letter barely scratches the surface of how much I admire you.
I love you and need you more than you'll ever know.

And since you are my best friend,
I can tell you now to
wipe those tears from your eyes.

Love,
Your daughter and best friend, Kelly Marie
